Born and raised in the German speaking part of Switzerland, Lucas started his musical journey with saxophone lessons at age nine. For his eleventh birthday he got a drum kit and lessons, putting the sax aside. But it wasn't until he picked up a guitar at fourteen that his passion for music found its real outlet.
In his late teens he started Freakuency, a four piece band consisting of drums, bass, guitar and turntables. Together they combined diverse styles such as Funk, Rock, Reggae, Punk and Hip Hop, performed hundreds of shows across Switzerland and southern Germany and released two full length albums. Lucas played guitar, sang lead vocals and wrote most of the quartets repetoire.
Lucas worked as an established musician in Switzerland, playing with the bands Freakuency and The Mighty Roots Reggae Band, doing work as a studio musician, teaching drums and guitar and coaching various music workshops. Then, in 2010, with a passionate desire to bring his musicianship to an even higher plane, he ventured off to Los Angeles where he studied guitar at the academic level at Musicians Institute in Hollywood. There he earned his Associate Degree in Performing Arts (guitar) and went on to study film scoring at UCLA, discovering his real true love: composing for moving pictures.
In addition to Lucas' passion for music, he has always been active in the visual arts, with a degree in Graphic Design from F+F School for Art and Media Design in Zurich. Samples of his work can be seen here.
